It can be claimed that in the context of contemporary man, where meaninglessness combined with fear, doubt, and anxiety have cast a shadow over his sphere, the necessity of paying attention to the bewildered man and finding meaning in him is more evident than ever before. Meaning is the result of factors affecting the understanding of the text by the under-stander and, as a phenomenon, it is capable of being produced in different psychological, social and cultural situations, and others can also understand and receive it in different or similar situations. This research examines the mechanisms of production, suspension and representation of meaning in modern dramatic and literary texts. The main issue of the research is the analysis of the "meaning of meaning" and how meaning is formed, not simply based on the analysis of the semantic content of the works, but at the level of narrative structure. The type of research is descriptive-analytical in nature and qualitative in strategic perspective, based on the analysis of Gerard Genette's narrative. The community under investigation in this research includes drama writing and texts and some valuable, influential and noble philosophical-literary works in the world of modern drama, including "Waiting for Godot", "Crime and Punishment", "Metamorphosis", "Thus Spoke Zarathustra", "The Tragic Sense of Life" and "Fear and Trembling". The research findings show that elements and components such as: time, focalization and sound in Genette's theory play a fundamental role in shaping, suspending and collapsing meaning. Also, the crisis of meaning in modern texts is represented not only in the form of the content, but also in the awe, form and structure of the narrative. As a result, narrative in modern dramatic works does not function merely as a means of conveying meaning, but rather, here, narrative is the very process of producing and recreating meaning.
