The Scientific Quarterly of Theatre is a journal affiliated with the General Office of the Center for Dramatic Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Operating under the proprietorship of the Iranian Association of Dramatic Arts, the journal began its activities in Autumn 2014 (1393) as a peer-reviewed scientific-research quarterly.
The journal aims to contribute to the advancement of the performing arts by promoting and supporting scholarly theatre studies and by expanding and disseminating knowledge in the field of Iranian performing arts at the international level. In order to foster the development of academic research in performing arts, the journal publishes selected articles submitted by respected researchers after undergoing a peer-review process, making them accessible to the wider academic community.
The Scientific Quarterly of Theatre is committed to the principles of scientific rigor and research ethics. Accordingly, authors wishing to submit manuscripts are required to obtain and submit a similarity (plagiarism) report from the IranDoc system. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% will not be considered for publication. For guidance on the similarity-checking process, authors are advised to consult the Guidelines for Authors.
The journal employs a double-blind peer-review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by two reviewers, and in cases where revisions are required, a third reviewer will conduct a subsequent evaluative review. The complete peer-review process in this journal is estimated to take up to six months.
